I’m curious about a lot of things. Too many things. I have thoughts, opinions, and interests that defy a clear definition of purpose. As a marketer, it’s my job to seek product market fit and differentiate with compelling value propositions. But when it comes to my own brand – it’s a struggle. I don’t fit in a box. I want to write about anything and everything. So that’s what I’m doing here.
Previously I’ve been dissuaded by a lack of clear focus. Who wants to read a blog that leapfrogs ideas on a daily basis?
My hesitance recently changed after reading Range: Why Generalists Triumph In a Specialized World. David Epstein eloquently provides anecdotes and scientific backing that illustrates the power of generalization in an increasingly hyper-specialized world. It gave this grit-lacking guy a push to finally sharing some creativity and writing I’ve been bottling up for a long time.
